The Way to Make a Bright Future for Horticultural Production
The Clarion PAC Autumn Leaf Festival is a new and exciting event to bring the public together around horticulture. In fact, it’s the first outdoor event in Clarion County for horticultural production! It will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, and Sunday, September 23rd , at Clarion County Park located at 656 Broadway in Clarion, Pennsylvania. It’s a two-day event with workshops, demonstrations and entertainment on Saturday as well as vendors and activities all day on Sunday.
Saturday, September 22nd begins at 10:00 AM with a Master Gardener Demonstration. This is followed by a Horticultural Production workshop on “Housing Vegetable Pests”. At 11:00 AM , a “Cultivating Singing” session will start the entertainment for the day.
At 12:00 PM , there will be a talk about Organic Beekeeping & Processing Honey . This will be followed by another Horticulture Production workshop on “Heirloom Tomatoes”.
At 1:00 PM , there will be a workshop called “Gardening Without the Kitchen”. It’s followed by the final Horticulture Production workshop of the day on “Making Good Compost”.
Autumn Leaf Festival 2020 Information Sheet & Calendar
This two-day event is a wonderful way to learn more about horticulture. There will be plenty of activities on both Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd so that you can choose which ones interest you most. Here is a list of what we can expect to see:
*Family fun on the lawn from 10am – 4:30pm.
*Art activities, nature crafts, and a science demonstration.
*Food for sale by local vendors and the Carroll Maple Sugarhouse stand.
*Live music will be provided by a local band and more.
*A winery will also be on-site selling wine, cider, and barbecue.
To make things even more exciting, we can expect to see the following:
*A corn maze will be on-site for fun.
*Live singing and karaoke will take place. This is a family-friendly event for all ages! Come out and enjoy some good old country music.
*The annual pumpkin contest will take place on Saturday from 10am – 4:30pm. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories.
*A spooky walking tour will take place on the Sunday from 10am – 3pm. This is a great way to learn more about the history of the area and to see “haunted sites” in our community. It is also a great way to get out and enjoy some fresh air and nature!
