Introduction: The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park has Become a Popular Place for Couples to See and Be Seen

On a recent Sunday afternoon, a group of giggling girls were waiting for their dates up on the south lawn of the Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park. Residents of Larkspur and San Anselmo, they had been attending weddings at the Barn for years. With its ideal location on a hillside in San Anselmo, the traditional barn, with a small wooden dance floor on a rustic hardwood floor, has become an attractive option for the younger couples’ budget. Couples can get a reception in the barn for as little as $10 per person, said Linda Childs, owner of The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park.
“With all the new construction on San Anselmo Avenue, it is just beautiful up here,” said one of the brides-to-be. “The view is fantastic and everyone loves how old world this place is.” It was just getting dark when their dates arrived and parking was tight because of a wedding down below in the vineyards.
“This is going to be a lot of fun,” said the groom-to-be, as he helped the bride with her jacket.

The Best Activities for Your Group or With Your Partner For an Adventure Evening

The barn at Evergreen memorial park is one of the most historic places in San Anselmo. The barn was built in the 1890s and was originally used as a dairy barn and storage area. In 1967, the land was given to the city by Josiah Heyman, an old lawyer. The site was dubbed “Evergreen Park” and it soon became a popular spot for families looking to enjoy the outdoors. The barn’s interior was decorated with wooden booths and stools, much like a cafeteria. In 2004, the barn was completely redesigned to become a dance hall. The barn is open for business for private parties; it is an excellent place to host birthday parties, wedding receptions, and family reunions. The barn serves meals that include BBQ chicken and other great dishes. There are also drinks such as beer, wine, and soda available for purchase at the bar in the corner of the lounge area. On the weekends, the barn hosts live Tamale and Pozole vendors. The barn is a great place for you to spend your time with a group of friends or go on a first date.
