La Grange is located in central Texas, approximately 110 miles outside of Houston. La Grange is a city with a population of 3,000 and was founded in 1854 by George Augustus Frederick, the first Marquis de Lafayette. Today it’s best known as the home to many well-known financial institutions due to its proximity to the capital near Washington-on-the-Brazos. In 1985, LaGrange became the first city in Texas to adopt a Main Street program.
