Tips for Planning a Wedding with the CMA

Know your guests: Have a list of all the invitees, current and past, that you want at your wedding. Your guestlist should include everyone you wish to invite. If you’re planning a wedding at The Hall of Fame, it is not necessary to have everyone who attends on your wedding invitation. The CMA has an exclusive minimum guest number required to hold the venue for a wedding (600). If you have over 600 guests, the CMA has a wedding package that could include your ceremony & reception. Please call (901) 926-2324 , or email us, to discuss more information.

Have your wedding certificate available: If you go this route, please make sure you have a copy of the marriage license as well. We are required by state law to keep a record of all marriages performed in our venue for 1 year.
Finding the perfect officiant: Ask someone you know whether he or she would like to officiate your wedding and if he/she knows who it is. If you would like to seek out a preacher, please visit www.preachers.net. You may also contact the Listing Department at (901) 926-2324 , ext. 2, to request a list of all officiants in the Memphis area.

Our building can accommodate your entire wedding party, guests, and others attending the ceremony in one location. If you would like your ceremony in our museum, we can provide beautiful surroundings for your special day. We also have options for your reception and an area for dancing after the ceremony. The Best Time to Hold your Wedding

Packing Your Wedding: Since there are two different types of catering packages for weddings held at the CMA, we recommend that you order your food and other items in advance to minimize the time needed to set up your room. All catering services including mass catering, buffet service, centerpieces/table decorations and reception can be delivered as early as 7am on the day of your wedding from our catering vendors. For example: if you are planning to hold your wedding on a Saturday you may pre-order your meal and table decorations at least two weeks before the date of your wedding. After the date of your wedding, our catering vendors will be able to deliver the rest of your food items and centerpieces if they are not already delivered.
Live music: There is no charge for live music during your reception at the CMA, unless it is requested via our entertainment booking system or one of our venue’s regular bands or musicians are scheduled to play. Our bands and musicians that frequently play at the CMA include The Hideaways, The Beard Brothers, Cass County, Jim Brewer, Billy Currington, and more. Please note that certain restrictions do apply to the number of people that can be seated in the horseshoe area where live music is normally performed.

The Museum is open every day from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until it closes or sells out of tickets.
